1. What HeyBadge is

HeyBadge is a free tool for making a digital badge: a page with your photo, title, links and contact details that you share as a link, a QR code, a contact card, a phone wallpaper, a printed badge or a Wallet pass. Visitors can save your contact and send you theirs ("swap details").

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Each person may have one account, and each account has one badge.
• You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep access to that email safe; you're responsible for what happens in your account.
• The details you give must be true, and the badge must be about you.

3. What you may not do

Don't use HeyBadge to:

• pretend to be someone else, or a company, event or organisation you don't represent;
• use another person's photo, name or contact details without their permission;
• make fake event credentials, or a badge meant to get you into a place or event you have no right to enter, or that misleads people about who you are or what you do;
• harass, threaten or spam anyone, including through swaps;
• post anything illegal, hateful, violent, sexual, or that infringes someone else's rights (such as copyright or trademarks);
• break, overload, scrape or get around the site's limits and security, or collect other people's data from it.

4. Link names

Some link names are reserved for the site (such as admin, support, privacy and official) and can't be taken. A name you give up stays held for 12 months so old QR codes don't open someone else's badge. We may take back a link name that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark or misleads people.

5. Reports and hiding badges

Anyone can report a badge with the flag on its page, or by emailing . We review reports and may hide a badge, remove content or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, with or without notice. A hidden badge can be seen only by its owner. If you think we made a mistake, email us and we'll look again.

6. Your content

What you put on your badge stays yours. You give us a limited, worldwide, free licence to store, host and display it, and to make link previews, QR codes, contact cards (vCard), wallpapers, print sheets and Wallet passes from it, only to run HeyBadge for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people already saved (for example, a contact card someone downloaded). You confirm you have the right to everything you upload.

7. Our content

The HeyBadge app, its design, themes, artwork, the HeyBadge name and the Hey mark belong to Mayas Ötegen or are used under licence (see Credits). You may use them only as part of using HeyBadge. Event names in themes are used only to describe them; see the Disclaimer.

8. No guarantee

HeyBadge is free and provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always be online, error-free, or that a QR code, Wallet pass or printed badge will scan or be accepted at any event. Check your badge before you rely on it. Event organisers' own badges and rules always come first.

9. Limitation of liability

As far as UAE law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or for anything other users put on their badges or send you. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to 100 UAE dirhams. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud.

10. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you published or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, as far as the law allows.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the maker under Your data. This removes your badge, photos, stats and swapped details straight away (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We may also stop offering HeyBadge, and will try to give notice so you can download your data.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change matters, we'll say so on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using HeyBadge after that, the new terms apply.
